I was born in Timmins, Ontario, Canada in 1963.   I earned a B.A. in Philosophy in 1993 from Brock University.  I then pursued my graduate work at Trent University in Native Studies  and received an M.A. in 1998.  I am currently completing my Ph.D. work in the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University in the area of  Environmental Educational Methods.

My areas of interest are philosophical traditions, identity, ethics, and Aboriginal education.

My  teaching career includes course directorships, co-lectureships and teaching assistantships at Brock University, Trent University and York University.   I was an instructor in the Museum Curatorial Research Program and the Police Foundations Program as well as the Curriculum Facilitator at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Peterborough.
